I’ve had a lot on my mind lately.Β  My husband is hurting, and my best friend is hurting.Β  We’ve laid two loved ones to rest this year.Β  Grieving is hard.

I wish I could make things easier for my hurting loved ones.Β  I wish I could take away their pain.

I must admit that this week I have felt pretty helpless.

I feel like I am saying all the wrong things.

This is my world right now.

I was thinking about my world on the drive home from work today.Β  I know that it’s really not my world.Β  It’s God’s.

Somewhere down deep inside me, I remembered a song from my childhood, and I started to sing.Β  I sang it loud as I drove down the turnpike.Β  I sang it as a testament to my faith.

He’s got the whole world in His hands.

He’s got the whole world in His hands.

He’s got the whole world in His hands.

He’s got the whole world in His hands.

Some days, you just need to remember that He’s got you and me sister in His hands.Β

Β β€œAh, Sovereign Lord,
You have made the heavensΒ  and the earth
by Your great power and outstretched arm.
Nothing is too hard for You.”
Jeremiah 32:17, NIV

Something to think about…

  1. Bless your dear heart! I am so sorry you are going through so much. I surely can relate to feeling so helpless in the midst of so much sadness and heartache. So thankful to know our dear, loving Lord knows and understands everything about us. I will be praying for you. Sending lots of love and hugs your way. πŸ™‚

  2. Lyli, joining you in praying for you & your hurting loved ones. This post brought me comfort today as I remembered His hands are big enough for us all. How amazing a thought that is! Grateful for this post & you!

  3. It’s like the sweet little one is handing her whole world right back up to the One who’s the only One who can do something about all the hurt and pain. I picture myself doing that often, raising my hands high, whispering, ‘Hear you go, God. This is yours. That one’s Yours. The whole thing is Yours’

    Praying, friend.

  4. He’s got you and me, sister! Bless you as you go through these trials.

Thanks so much for hosting the link up. This is my first time to join. Glad to be here!

  5. “β€˜You’re my servant, serving on my side.
    I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’
    Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you” (Isaiah 41:10)

Blessed are the hurting ones who have caring people reach to heal their wounds! Keep reaching, loving and praying friend!

  6. Sounds like we’ve had similar weeks, Lyli. It is in times like these that I am so thankful for my faith. It is truly a blessing. Sometimes our faith is all we have, but you know what? I’ve learned that’s a “pretty lot!” (forgive the grammar πŸ™‚ ) Praying for you and your loved ones.

  7. Lyli,
I’m sorry to hear your husband and friends are hurting….grieving is hard work…praying today for God’s comfort for you and your loved ones…and Jer. 32:17 is such a comfort…thank you for modeling what it looks like to cling to God when it is hard…((hugs))

  8. Lyli thanks for sharing your heart with us. I can only assure you that God’s got you. I can hug you right now but hey, His arms are way larger than mine! So, I pray He envelops you and heal your family and friends’ grieving hearts.

  9. I have fond memories of singing this song much as a child. It’s a great reminder and a great encouragement when we feel like we want to carry the weight of the world ourselves. I’ve been writing similar sentiments lately. Thank you for sharing.
